My Christmas Wish for YOU!!!

My Christmas wish for you is HAPPINESS!!!

But, first...

Happiness resides in each and every one of us.  We only have to stop and take a truthful moment to consider the non-monetary "things" we have.  Once we remove the tangible "stuff" we are left with simple, yet startling Happiness!!!

Above all I think this quote sums it up quite nicely.

Happiness...this is my Christmas wish for you!!!

Merry Christmas and much Happiness.  xxx

Luxurious Embellishments

This season jewelry is anything goes.  The bigger and bolder the better.

My favorite look includes vintage inspired gem encrusted pieces.  Taking us back to the 20's and encompassing past generations these standouts are timeless and elegant.  Pairing with simple clothing staples allows your cherished accessories to stand out and pop.

Gary Pepper blogger Nicole Warne

Following Nicole's lead here are a few pieces that fit the romantic statement she makes.

Old School Blogging ~ Holiday Edition

I love this time of the year, as Ebeneezer Scrooge says in the Classic “A Christmas Carol“,
I will honor Christmas in my heart and keep it all the year.”
So without further ado Elaine and Kir bring you Old School Blogging, Holiday Style!   And I'm linking up with them with my answers to the meme about December HOLIDAYS!

First things first: 1 Holy Night or 8 Crazy Ones? (Do you Celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, both?)

In my family Christmas Eve has always been the night for the entire family to get together.  We have a huge meal , unwrap gifts, eat desert and sip cocktails the night through.

Christmas Eve 2012

Peppermint or Chocolate?

I love them both especially together.  Peppermint Bark anyone?

Sing us into the Holiday Season, what is your favorite Carol this time of year?

I love this song because it reminds me of ALL that we have and how much we take it for granted.  My favorite line in the song is

"Tonight thank God it's them instead of you..."

Whenever I hear that line it completely grounds me and in the same instant almost always brings tears to my eyes.

Tell us about a Favorite Family or Personal Holiday Tradition.

Breaking Oplatek of Christmas wafer is the highlight of Christmas Eve for adults and children alike.  It's the one tradition that has passed unchanged over 6 generations.

Each person received half a sheet of the oplatek.  We form a line and each person makes his or her way down the line breaking off a small piece of wafer from each others wafer.  A hug, a kiss, a Christmas wish, eating the wafer piece and then moving along the line.  This usually takes about 5 minutes to finish up.  In this way we all have at least 1 small moment with each person.

C'mon you remember your favorite (Christmas, Hanukkah) gift, tell  us all about it.

A radio/cassette player when I was about 12 or 13.

That magical moment?  (Your favorite scene from a Holiday movie...it's okay if you have 2)

My favorite Holiday movie is the Scrooge "A Christmas Carol".  My favorite scene is when Ebeneezer wakes at last and rushes out into the streets proclaiming Merry Christmas and then proceeds to shower all who pass in his wake with Christmas Cheer!

Kissing under the mistletoe?  Who do you hope is standing underneath?  (We know it's normally your spouse, if it did not have to be, who would you choose?)

I have no idea why, but I think Pittbull is a very sexy, attractive man.

Swans a swimming, lords a leaping, golden rings; which gift of the 12 days of Christmas would you like most?

2 Turtle Doves

Play Secret Santa, what inappropriate gift would you love to give this year?

It's so inappropriate I cannot share, it would be Rated R for Racy.

Martha Stewart or the Grinch?  What is your decorating style?  (Pictures would be awesome!)

When my boys were growing up I was a definite Martha Stewart.  Now that they are grown and have flown the coop I am somewhere between the 2.

What is ONE WORD that defines the holiday season for you?  (Examples: Believe/Wonder/Bah Humbug?)

Happiness!!!

If Santa could assure its delivery, what's the first thing on your holiday wish LIST?

The ability for my loved ones to have ENOUGH.  Whatever enough means to each of them.

How Old is YOUR Skin? Simple Quiz.

I have been told I have great skin, for my age.  I'm 48.

This photo was taken by my Mom on 12/24/12, I was 47
When I look in the mirror I see the beginnings of upper lip lines and my neck and jaw line are showing signs of droopiness.  Around my eyes there a few wrinkles, although I have dark circles and bags, which according to my Dermatologist are due to my chronic allergies.  Overall my skin is holding up.  I have used Retin A off and on over a 25 year period for cystic acne and lately to help plump up my skin smoothing out the wrinkles.  I've also added hydroquinone skin bleaching cream to help with the skin discolorations caused by too many years of baking in the sun.

My basic skin care routine is fairly simple.  I am not loyal to any brand and consistently change the brands I use.  One of the reasons I jump around with skin care products is I feel that my skin does better if it is surprised every few months.  This may not make sense to aesthetician's, but it works for me.

A.M.
Cleanse, exfoliate, anti-ageing serum, eye cream, moisturizer and sunscreen.

P.M.
Cleanse, apply a pinkie tip of Retin A and hydroquinone cream mixed together all over my face, neck and under eye area.
On alternate days
Cleanse, exfoliate, vitamin c serum, eye cream and moisturizer.

I found a terrific tool to find your skin's apparent age.  It's a simple quiz that will analyze your skin based on what your skin looks like today.  This is not a word quiz, there are photos of real facial areas and you choose which photo best matches your skin.  Then based on your truthful answers you will have the age of your skin along with suggested products by Vichy Laboratories.  I may or may not purchase products from them, but I have a few different options now.

Take your Vichy Skin Apparent Age Analysis here.  There are 3 analysis's you can take.  Anti-aging, Hydration and Oily Skin & Imperfections.  Choose which analysis suits you.

Discover firmer, wrinke-free and younger looking skin

Discover hydrated, soft and comfortable skin

Discover clear and purified skin

According to Vichy my skin's apparent age is 36, thank goodness since my Love is 38!

Are you willing to take the skin analysis?  What is your skin's apparent age?

24 Days Until Christmas

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me...
a gift of unconditional love and acceptance.

Every year about this time I begin to think about what I'll wear on Christmas Eve.  This is the night the entire family, all 19 of us, congregate at Mom & Dad's  for a HUGE celebration.  It is the only time of the year that everyone is together at the same time.  It a fun-filled time with food, gifts and conversation.  I, nor anyone else would miss it for the world.

It is also the night to strut your stuff.  Everyone dresses to impress!  It's a tradition. Being the constant dieter or lifestyle changer I'm continuously determined to shed 10 pounds before the holidays and so put off buying my outfit to the very last minute.  I have been eyeballing an outfit on Wallis, but have been hemming and hawing about how I should wait to order just in case I can fit into a smaller size.

Here is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance from My Love...
just order the size I need today and enjoy the holidays without the added stress of  trying to lose those damn 10 pounds.

So without further ado here are the dress and shoes I am ordering.

My Countdown to Christmas Outfit

I'm also ordering Spanx open Bust Mid-Thigh Bodysuit to offer a bit of smoothing compression and support.

I have to thank My Love for this gracious gift this First Day of Christmas.  Now I only hope that I receive these items in time...

What gift did you receive this First Day of Christmas?
