Motivation Monday #4

As anyone who know me can attest, I am always trying a newfangled way to lose weight and get back in shape.

Those who are in shape and eat clean already know there is no miracle diet.

Today I begin a journey of clean eating and fitness.

It's really quite simple.

Q:  What should we be eating?

A:  Real food.  That's it.  If it came out of the ground, or if it's from an animal that ate what came out of the ground, you're good to go.  But if a human processed it in between, either something was added, usually sugar, or something was removed, most likely fiber and micro nutrients like vitamins and minerals.

My Goal :  Slow down and focus on how to feel great from within using diet and exercise.

What are your thoughts about eating and fitness?  Any recipes or training tips you'd like to share?

  1. First off I think you look great!!!! Your fit and no flabby stuff hanging! Personally you don't need to lose stay the way you are. You have a great shape! I agree so much process foods these days and hard to stay away!! Best things do come from a garden you grow organically. Can't wait to have one next year as I like to can. Living in the country here will help us go more organic. Just walking will keep you fit so move up to the mtns!!!

    1. Hey Inez, thanks for your kind words. It's hard to eat clean. But Day 1 I stayed on track and so far so good for Day 2. Yeah, climbing the mountains would be great exercise every day. Maybe one of these days we'll be able to make a move. I'd love to, it's so stunningly beautiful there.

  2. Real food! Absolutely!!!! It can be a challenge! I struggle all the time with making good choices but it's worth it. I try not to waste my calories on liquids. I drink Moroccon green tea with mint every day, and start my day with lemon water. Every day! I have seen a tremendous change in my skin! I have decreased my portions which is making a difference.

I love that image! Those words are my motivation!

    Go girl!

Thanks for coming by my blog!

    1. Hi Jamie, thanks for visiting. Moroccon green tea? hmmm, I may have to look for that. I have heard about drinking lemon water, but haven't tried that yet. If it'll help my skin I may have to try that too. I love this image and thought it worked well with what I am trying to accomplish. Have a great day.

  3. I have never paid much attention to what I eat. I just eat what I like to eat and to me, eating healthy food and enjoy eating it is really important. That's all. Love the picture there!

  4. I am trying to eat mostly real food. I do eat some other foods but I am trying to stay along the Paleo/Primal/Low carb foods which eliminates a good bit of processed foods and sugar. I really try to stay away from all processed sugar.

    1. Agreed. I am eating whole foods with little or no processing. The great thing about this plan is that I am able to have 2 cheat meals. One on Saturday and another on Sunday. As long as I eat clean the rest of the week, I'm golden.

  5. I absolutely agree! Once the processed junk is ditched from your diet you will find that you have more energy and just plain feel better. No more bloating, crankiness, negative thoughts, etc. I'm looking forward to following your transformation to clean eating!
