Five Sentence Fiction – Charmed

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.
This week:  CHARMED
This is my original piece of fiction:
In the Cards
The cards knew of what they spoke.
Three of Pentacles,
The Star,

The Devil.

The Tower,
Three of Cups,

The start, the past, the unconscious and conscious mind and the future.

Hard work, anything is possible, unexpected change and hidden desires, enjoying happy endings and forcing my will on someone while being in a situation that makes me unhappy.

Moonstruck by my charmed reading.

  1. Love your take on the prompt . . . makes me want to have my cards read (it's been ages!) :)

  2. Haha...It's a fun way to receive an inspiring thought on your energy.

  3. The last line was particularly elegant. Nicely done :))

  4. Very interesting. I went through this about five times before I realized I was reading it like a haiku with really long syllable count, and yet it worked...

I need to learn more about tarot, especially since I have a short story (that I haven't worked on in a while) that involves them (at least peripherally).

    1. I've always liked the idea of writing haiku, maybe I'll give it a whirl. I picked up a tarot deck on a whim while on vacation. There is an interesting history that goes along with them. Not evil or witchcraft as some believe. Good luck with your short story. I'd love to read it once it's published.

  5. A most creative and imaginative piece!

Recognition is the greatest motivator.
