Heartbeat

On now to our weekend challenge.  This weekend we are asking for a thirty-three word confession.  You're free to write non-fiction or fiction or to blur the lines in between.  We just encourage you to get creative and give us your best.

This is my 33 word confession.

          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Obstacles abound.
Challenges taunt my choice.
Walking alone, in cold glittering snow, I shiver
as a bead of sweat rolls over my swollen belly.
A single teenage mother-to-be.
Your heartbeat giving me strength.
Five Sentence Fiction – Charmed
What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.
This week:  CHARMED
This is my original piece of fiction:
     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the Cards
The cards knew of what they spoke.
Three of Pentacles,
The Star,

The Devil.

The Tower,
Three of Cups,

The start, the past, the unconscious and conscious mind and the future.

Hard work, anything is possible, unexpected change and hidden desires, enjoying happy endings and forcing my will on someone while being in a situation that makes me unhappy.

Moonstruck by my charmed reading.

A Dip

Trifextra: Week Sixty-Eight

On to the weekend prompt.  This weekend we are asking for exactly 33 words, 30 of your own and three of the following:

topple     paradigm     underneath     nerve     honey     loop

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Dip
Before I lose my nerve,
fingers crossed,
I smile shyly,
"Honey, let's climb underneath the old wood bridge,
strip off our clothes,
jump in the river and
frolic and play like otters do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New Beat
Feeling as though a magnetic field surrounds him with its attraction; a current thrumming through his entire being, pulsing and throbbing along his healing scar.

His new heart lurches erratically creating a new intense, rhythmic beat.

Scanning his surroundings he searches the unfamiliar faces for the source of this eerie sensation.

His eyes lock on a sad, young woman and unsure why, his feet are steadily moving forward drawn by her knowing stare.

As she reaches for his hand, he fully understands that the sound of her dreams shattering is his new heart beat.

Field Trip

Exploring her new surroundings Dossee slithers and sidewinds across the sandy terrain creating S-shapes  to mimic her movements.

Watching her we wonder if red-tail boa's know how to find their way back home.

Posted by PicasaThis weekend we want you to give us 33 words (exactly) that include among them at least one example of onomatopoeia.
